WHY TEACH MINDFULNESS?
Mindfulness is a form of education in metacognition. Metacognition has been identified as a low cost and high impact intervention (Education Endowment Foundation, 2018).
Mindfulness contributes positively to resilience and wellbeing.
I have practised mindfulness since 2009 and taught it to young people since 2014. I previously worked as a mathematics and religious studies teacher, and for four years as a head of year to over 200 students.
I have trained to teach mindfulness for primary and secondary students with the Mindfulness in Schools Project.
